More Information

The P715 measures the power of both legs separately with dual-sided power meter spindles. Because the power meter module sits close to the pedal's output point, it reduces wattage loss and transmission error. An embedded gyroscope tracks angular velocity to calculate instantaneous power at each pedalling angle, and a temperature compensation algorithm keeps readings accurate across changes in altitude and temperature.

The pedals are made of composite carbon fibre with precipitation-hardened stainless steel spindles. They are light, stiff, and passed Magene's 1 million pedal stroke test. Installation is as simple as fitting any road pedal: just use a wrench. Magene's testing shows it can be done in under a minute, and because it is pedal-based, it is easy to move between bikes.

Advanced metrics include power phase, riding position, left/right balance, pedalling smoothness and torque effectiveness. Note that power phase and riding position only display on bike computers that support them, such as Garmin.

Compatibility

Works with mainstream bike computers over ANT+ or Bluetooth, including Magene, Garmin, Wahoo, iGPSPORT, Bryton, XOSS and BLACK BIRD, plus apps such as Zwift and Strava. Calibrate automatically in the Magene Utility app or manually on a compatible bike computer, and set your crank length in the app or on the computer before riding.
