A direct mount hanger bolts the rear derailleur straight to the frame hanger, which creates a stronger, more rigid connection than a standard hanger-and-derailleur setup. That keeps the derailleur position consistent under load, resulting in more precise shifting.

It also provides more room to remove and replace the rear wheel, which makes rear wheel changes faster and easier.

Compatibility
