More Information
SRAM’s E1 generation is its most refined wireless groupset family yet. It started with Red E1 in 2024, the lightest electronic groupset SRAM has ever made, and in 2025 the same ergonomics and braking upgrades were brought down to Force and Rival. Whichever level you choose, you get the same core experience: smoother shifting, lighter braking effort and a more comfortable hood shape.
Everything is fully wireless with SRAM AXS. There are no shift cables or wires running to the derailleurs, which keeps your cockpit clean and makes installation much simpler. Through the SRAM AXS app, you can check battery levels, customise button functions and shift logic, get maintenance reminders and update firmware.
The new shift-brake levers allow true one-finger braking from both the hoods and the drops, with a noticeably lighter lever feel. The hood shape has been reworked for better grip and comfort on long rides, and bonus buttons on the shifters can control your Hammerhead Karoo or other compatible devices without taking your hands off the bars.
For gravel and all-road riders, the XPLR versions run a 1x13-speed drivetrain with a wide 10–46T cassette. The XPLR rear derailleur uses SRAM’s Full Mount hangerless design, which bolts directly to the frame for maximum strength and impact resistance, with no adjustment screws and no bent hangers to worry about.
Available Models
✔ SRAM Rival E1
The most affordable way into SRAM wireless shifting. Rival E1 inherits the key ergonomic and braking upgrades from Red, making it a great choice for riders upgrading from mechanical or building their first electronic bike.
Power meter option uses a spindle-based, single-sided design.
✔ SRAM Force E1
The pro-level choice. Significantly lighter than Rival, with sharper shifting and premium finishing, Force E1 offers race-level performance at a more accessible price than Red.
Power meter options include spider-based (Road) and spindle or spider-based (XPLR).
✔ SRAM Red E1
SRAM’s flagship and the lightest electronic groupset in its range. Carbon brake levers, premium materials and top-tier precision for riders who want the very best.
Power meter option is built into the crankset spider for accurate, reliable data.
Road vs XPLR
✔ Road (2x12-Speed)
Front and rear derailleur with double chainrings and a 12-speed cassette. Ideal for road racing, group rides and climbing.
✔ XPLR (1x13-Speed)
Gravel and all-road specific single-ring setup with a 10–46T 13-speed cassette, Full Mount hangerless rear derailleur and clutch for secure chain retention on rough terrain.
XPLR requires a frame with UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger).
Add-On Options
✔ Power Meter – Train and race with accurate power data, fully integrated into the crankset or spindle.
✔ Hammerhead Karoo – SRAM’s own GPS bike computer, with seamless AXS integration and remote control from the shifter bonus buttons.
